Waterbury Municipal Office Complex

Budget: $5 Million

Location: Waterbury, VT

Architects: Vermont Integrated Architecture

Scope: LN Consulting completed the design for the renovation and construction of new town offices and library. The existing historic town office building had been damaged during flooding caused by Hurricane Irene.

The project included the renovation of the existing historic Jane’s house and the addition of new town offices and a two-story library building with a total gross area of approximately 15,950 sq. ft. The design utilized a high-efficiency variable refrigerant volume (VRV) heat recovery heat pump system for heating and air conditioning. The system was provided with a hot water backup system utilizing high-efficiency condensing boilers. Ventilation systems are variable volume, energy recovery, demand control systems. The electrical design includes high-efficiency LED lighting with daylighting and occupancy controls. All systems were designed to be located above the 100-year flood level.

The complex received a Preservation Trust of Vermont Honor Award.
